Privacy policy
Last updated: 20 July 2026
This policy explains how OneMuslimNetwork (“we”, “us”) processes personal data when you use onemuslimnetwork.com. We comply with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable Swedish privacy law.
Contact: support@onemuslimnetwork.com
Privacy requests: email us with the subject line “Privacy request”.
1. Data we collect
Depending on how you use the platform, we may process:
- Account data: name, email address, phone number, password (stored hashed), email confirmation status.
- Profile and listing data: marriage profiles, business and mosque service details, photos, descriptions, location fields, shop designs, marketplace and housing listings.
- Communications: chat messages, support emails, report submissions, and admin feedback on rejected listings.
- Payment-related data: amounts, references (for example
MN-M-123), payment status, wallet transactions — not full card numbers when Stripe is used (Stripe processes card data directly). - Technical data: IP address, browser type, and server logs for security and troubleshooting.
- Preferences: country filter choice and language preference stored in cookies when you use those features.
You choose what to publish on public profiles and listings. Do not share sensitive personal data you are not comfortable making visible to other members.
2. Why we use your data
- Create and manage your account.
- Display listings, shops, maps, and messages you request.
- Process listing fees and wallet top-ups.
- Review content for approval, handle reports, and keep the community safe.
- Send service emails (registration, password reset, admin decisions).
- Improve reliability and prevent abuse.
3. Legal bases (GDPR)
| Purpose | Legal basis |
|---|---|
| Account and core platform features | Performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)) |
| Listing fees and payments | Contract; legal obligation for accounting |
| Admin moderation and security logs | Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) |
| Preference cookies (country, language) | Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) — you can refuse non-essential cookies in our banner |
| Marketing emails (if we add them later) | Consent — only with opt-in |
4. Cookies
Cookies are small files stored in your browser. We use:
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
.AspNetCore.Identity.Application | Keeps you signed in | Session / auth settings | Essential |
mn_cookie_consent | Remembers your cookie choice | 1 year | Essential |
mn_country | Default country filter for listings and maps | 1 year | Preference (non-essential) |
.AspNetCore.Culture | Language preference | 1 year | Preference (non-essential) |
When you choose Essential only in our cookie banner, we still run login and security cookies. Preference cookies may be limited until you accept all cookies or change your choice. We do not currently use third-party advertising or analytics cookies.
You can also clear cookies through your browser settings. See our cookie banner on first visit
or clear the mn_cookie_consent cookie to see it again.
5. Sharing and processors
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only when needed to run the service:
- Hosting and database — where the application and data are stored.
- Email provider — to send transactional emails.
- Payment providers — Swish (manual verification) and Stripe (when enabled) for payments.
- Other users — content you publish on public listings, profiles, or shops.
- Authorities — when required by law or to protect rights and safety.
Processors are bound by contracts that require appropriate security and GDPR-compliant handling.
6. Retention
- Account data: while your account is active, then deleted or anonymised within a reasonable period after closure unless law requires longer storage.
- Listings: until you delete them or your listing period ends, plus a short admin backup window.
- Payment records: as required for accounting and tax (typically up to 7 years in Sweden).
- Server logs: limited period for security (usually weeks to months).
7. Your rights
Under GDPR you may have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of your personal data.
- Rectification — correct inaccurate data (also via your profile settings).
- Erasure — ask us to delete data when there is no compelling reason to keep it.
- Restriction — limit processing in certain cases.
- Portability — receive data you provided in a structured format.
- Object — to processing based on legitimate interests.
- Withdraw consent — where processing is based on consent (for example preference cookies).
Email support@onemuslimnetwork.com to exercise these rights. We respond within one month. You may also lodge a complaint with Integritetsskyddsmyndigheten (IMY), the Swedish supervisory authority.
8. Security
We use HTTPS, hashed passwords, access controls, and admin-only tools for sensitive operations. No online service is completely secure; please use a strong unique password and report suspected breaches to us immediately.
9. Children
OneMuslimNetwork is intended for adults (18+). We do not knowingly collect data from children. Contact us if you believe a minor has registered an account.
10. Changes
We update this policy when our practices change. The “Last updated” date shows the current version. Related documents: Terms and conditions · Community guidelines · Contact.
